Take your dive skills to the next level with the PADI Rescue Diver Course in Cabo San Lucas. This challenging and rewarding program teaches you how to prevent and manage problems in the water, build confidence, and become a better dive buddy. Training takes place across three afternoons in the Marine Park, with expert instructors guiding you through rescue scenarios in real-world conditions.

The Rescue Diver course begins at 1:00 PM each day with a briefing at the Dive Cabo shop, followed by an orientation on board with your instructor and captain. After reviewing emergency gear and procedures, you’ll head into the Cabo San Lucas Marine Park to run through five core rescue exercises—ranging from tired diver assists to panicked diver responses—over the first two days. On the third day, you’ll apply your skills during two structured rescue scenarios, simulating real emergencies in a controlled setting. Throughout the course, you’ll gain confidence, refine problem-solving skills, and come away with the knowledge needed to assist in a diving emergency. It’s serious training—but also a lot of fun.
Course Requirements / Prerequisites
- PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
- Minimum age: 12 years old
- Must have CPR/First Aid training within the last 24 months (see our Emergency First Response Course)
- Completion of Rescue Diver eLearning before in-water training
- Medically fit for diving (must complete and follow instructions outlined in the PADI medical form)
Course Schedule:
Day 1: 5 rescue exercises from 13:00 – 17:00
Day 2: 5 rescue exercises from 13:00 – 17:00
Day 3: 2 rescue scenarios from 13:00 – 17:00

Private Instruction
Choose to complete your PADI Rescue Diver course with a private instructor. It’s a smart option if you want focused support during this intensive, hands-on training — especially if you're pairing it with EFR or working toward Divemaster.
