What is the best time of year to dive in Cabo San Lucas?
Cabo San Lucas offers year-round diving, but the best conditions are typically from August to February. During these months, the water is warmest, visibility is at its peak, and marine life activity is high.
What is the water temperature and visibility like?
Water temperatures in Cabo San Lucas range from 68°F (20°C) in winter to 85°F (29°C) in late summer. Visibility ranges from 30 to over 100 feet, especially clear in the fall months.
Can you dive in Cabo during the winter months?
Yes! Winter diving is excellent, especially for encountering big marine life like whales and rays. A 5mm wetsuit is recommended for comfort during colder months.
What kind of dive conditions should I expect?
Most dive sites in Cabo San Lucas Marine Park and the Corridor are sheltered with mild to moderate currents and calm surface conditions, making them suitable for all experience levels.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation Policy
Once you reserve a space, it becomes exclusively yours and cannot be sold to others. Therefore, cancellations without sufficient notice prevent us from filling that space. This policy is designed to recover part of the lost revenue.
Cabo San Lucas, Corridor, Gordo Banks, and Cabo Pulmo Trips:
Cancellations made more than 36 hours before the trip will receive a 95% refund; a 5% retainer fee covers credit card and bank processing fees. No refunds will be issued for “no shows” or cancellations made less than 72 hours before the trip.PADI Courses:
A $250 USD non-refundable deposit is required for the open water diver, advanced diver, rescue diver and nitrox courses .
A $160 USD non-refundable deposit is required for the deep diver, underwater navigator and peak performance buoyancy specialty courses.
Once we receive your deposit, we will purchase and send your PADI e-learning code, which is non-refundable and yours to keep. Please consult with your physician to ensure you are medically fit to dive before purchasing the e-learning code.Whale Shark Sea Lion (La Paz), Ocean Safari (La Ventana) and Gray Whales (Puerto Chale) Trips:

If Dive Cabo cancels your trip due to weather or port closures, you may either reschedule (subject to availability) or receive a 100% refund of your deposit.Alcohol Policy:
We have a zero-tolerance policy for drinking and diving. Anyone showing signs of being hungover or under the influence of alcohol will not be allowed to dive and will not receive a refund.How do I book a dive or snorkel tour with Dive Cabo?
You can book directly through our website, by phone, or by email. A deposit is required to confirm your reservation.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards (VISA, Mastercard and Discover), US bank transfers including Zelle, and offer a 10% discount for cash payments in USD or MXN.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If Dive Cabo cancels your trip due to unsafe sea conditions or weather, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.
Marine Life in Cabo San Lucas & The Corridor
What marine animals can I see while diving in Cabo?
Expect encounters with sea lions, turtles, moray eels, octopus, nudibranchs, schools of tropical fish, and a large variety of rays such as mobulas, spotted eagle, and cownose etc. Humpback and Grey whales and dolphins are seasonal highlights.
When is mobula ray season in Cabo?
Mobula rays migrate past Cabo from May to July. During this time, massive schools can often be seen both underwater and from the surface. You can experience this migration in our Mobula Ray Safari or our La Ventana Sea Safari trips.
Do you offer shark diving?
Yes, we run shark diving trips to Gordo Banks out of our partner shop in San José del Cabo. These are advanced blue-water dives with the chance to see hammerheads and silky sharks.
Are whale sharks found in Cabo?
Whale sharks are not commonly seen in Cabo San Lucas. However, we offer seasonal tours to La Paz (October to April) for snorkeling with whale sharks in their natural habitat.
PADI Courses & Certifications
How long does it take to get PADI Open Water certified in Cabo?
Our standard PADI Open Water Course takes 3 days to complete and includes online theory (eLearning), confined water training, and four open water dives. We also offer a Fast-Track option completed in 2 days for those who are short on time.
Do I need prior experience to enroll in a PADI course?
No prior experience is required. Our Discover Scuba Diving program is perfect for first-timers and includes full instruction and shallow dives.
Can I complete my PADI Referral Dives with Dive Cabo?
Yes! If you’ve completed your pool and theory elsewhere, you can finish your open water dives with us and become fully certified.
What age can you start scuba diving?
You can start the PADI Open Water Course at age 10. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and meet basic swimming and health requirements.
Dive Trips & Locations
Where are the dive sites located?
Our daily trips explore the Cabo San Lucas Marine Park and The Corridor. All dive sites are accessible by boat and range from 5 to 45 minutes from our marina location.
What's the difference between Cabo San Lucas and The Corridor?
The Marine Park features dramatic underwater landscapes and sea lion colonies, while The Corridor offers beautiful reef systems and slightly calmer conditions.
Do you offer trips to Cabo Pulmo?
Yes, we offer full-day scuba diving and snorkeling excursions to Cabo Pulmo, with transportation and lunch included.
Do you offer Night Dives?
Yes! Night dives are offered regularly and are a great way to see a different side of the marine park, including bioluminescence and nocturnal creatures.
Transportation & Getting to the Shop
Do you offer hotel pickup or transportation?
Yes, transportation is available at an additional cost. We service most areas in Los Cabos and can coordinate shared or private options for your group.
How do I get to Dive Cabo?
You can either book Dive Cabo transportation, take a taxi, or use Uber. We are located right at the marina in Cabo San Lucas, inside the Hotel Tesoro (Local A14). Find us HERE on Google Maps
Can I be picked up in San José del Cabo?
Yes, we can arrange round-trip transportation from San José del Cabo for diving or snorkeling tours with Dive Cabo. If you’d rather stay closer to home, our sister location East Cape Explorers runs daily diving, snorkeling and whale watching tours out of the San José del Cabo marina.
Is there parking available near Dive Cabo?
Yes, paid parking is available nearby, and free street parking can sometimes be found within walking distance of the shop, if you arrive early enough. We tend to recommend parking HERE, which is a short 3 minute walk from our shop, right on the marina.
