Night Diving, Cabo San Lucas Marine Park
As the sun dips below the horizon, a different side of the ocean comes alive. Night diving in the Cabo San Lucas Marine Park is a peaceful, otherworldly experience that lets you witness the reef’s transformation after dark. Bioluminescence, sleeping turtles, hunting octopuses, and nocturnal fish activity all take center stage in this unique 1-tank dive.

Check-in time for night dives shifts slightly throughout the year to align perfectly with sunset, creating a seamless transition from twilight to darkness. After a safety briefing and gear prep at our Cabo San Lucas dive center, you’ll board our custom dive boat and head out to one of the Marine Park’s top sites, most often Pelican Rock.
This relaxed, shallow dive focuses on observing the marine life that emerges after dark. You might spot hunting moray eels, parrotfish tucked into coral, or the pulsing glow of bioluminescent plankton. Your guide will carry extra lights and point out nocturnal behaviors you’d never see during daylight hours.

Prerequisites
- PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent
- Minimum age: 12 years
- Comfortable diving in low visibility or willing to be guided closely
- Recent dive experience recommended
